About Me
I’ve been an editor for almost ten years. While I have always had a love for words, and the technical side of the English language, I’ve also enjoyed helping others to grow.
I was Editor-in-Chief of a successful videogame site boasting more than 250,000 monthly visitors, and worked with its team of over twenty-five writers, shaping, editing, and publishing countless editorial features, reviews, and interviews. I also spent considerable time mentoring many of them to help develop their writing abilities, with several going on to write for big-name industry magazines. I also designed and edited an in-flight magazine for three years before deciding to move in a different direction, after falling in love with indie publishing.
Seeing my partner publishing her own books, and observing some of the hurdles that indie authors face, my interest was piqued and I found myself getting more involved. I saw a need for independent authors to put out professional-looking books that could rival traditional publishing, and be afforded the right to self-publish without the stigma that often surrounds such endeavours.
The quality of editing is something that comes up time and again as being a major problem in indie publishing, but savvy authors who plan on building a strong author brand know that editing is a key component in producing a polished and professional book, equal to anything in the traditional arena. That is why I do what I do. I want to help indie authors stand out, to put out their best possible work, and make their stories sing.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing videogames, writing and recording music as a multi-instrumentalist, shielding my ears against two overly enthusiastic children, and making my car look as shiny as possible.
